Korey Kingston Horn

Drummer- DJ- Curator Of Global Vibes

Korey Kingston Horn is a world-touring drummer, DJ, educator, and creative entrepreneur whose career embodies the idea of being a true curator of vibes.

Growing up in Southern California with his father, jazz singer Kim Horn, Korey was given one critical piece of advice early on: “If you want to be a professional musician, you have to know how to play everything.”

At first, he resisted. “I wanted to be a punk drummer; I wanted to be a ska drummer.” But his journey led him to master those styles so thoroughly that his bandmates dubbed him Korey Kingston — a name synonymous with authentic Jamaican grooves.

His dedication to ska, reggae, and rocksteady has seen him perform and record with genre icons like The Aggrolites, Hepcat, Rhythm Doctors, See Spot, and Tim Armstrong (Rancid/Transplants/Op Ivy). He also held down the drum chair for the all-star Western Standard Time Ska Orchestra and his own family band Shuffle & Bang, which he co-leads with his father, blending Jamaican rhythms with jazz sophistication.

Over time, Korey fully embraced his father’s wisdom about versatility. That openness expanded his resume to include British soul outfit Suedehead (including shows at Coachella and Verizon Amphitheatre), punk power trio Sharp Shock, and his own project Tigros, which has earned rave reviews for its raw, genre-bending sound.

Today, Korey is the drummer for Gogol Bordello, the legendary multicultural gypsy punk band known for its explosive live shows and global fanbase. With Gogol Bordello, he has played some of the world's biggest festivals and venues, appeared in the band’s official documentary Scream of My Blood, and recorded on their acclaimed album Solidaritine. He’s also featured on their upcoming new release slated for 2026, with even more tours and festivals on the horizon.

Beyond drumming, Korey is a professional DJ, known for his ability to read any room and curate the perfect vibe. His sets span Latin, Soul, Ska, Reggae, Lounge, House, and more—reflecting his lifelong study of rhythm and groove. Whether behind a kit or behind the decks, he focuses on one thing: creating an unforgettable experience.

As the founder of Drum Brigade, Korey is equally committed to education and community. Through Drum Brigade School, live clinics, a popular podcast, and online content, he champions a philosophy of “Camaraderie over Competition”—helping drummers build skills, confidence, and connection.

His work has been featured in Modern Drummer Magazine, Drum! Magazine, on Yo Gabba Gabba, BBC Radio, and countless TV and radio spots. And while his resume spans genres and continents, he always brings it back to the simple idea that started it all: Always respecting the music that gave him a career, while staying dedicated to one goal: curating the perfect vibe.
